Ward Ready is our second offering focused on clinical reasoning development, following on from the hugely successful General Practice Question Bank. 

Ward Ready was created because there was nothing like it in New Zealand to truly prepare new doctors for life on the wards. While medical school teaches the theory, the transition to working in a hospital can feel overwhelming — from managing ward calls and writing discharge summaries to handling real patients with real urgency. Ward Ready bridges that gap with practical, New Zealand–specific MCQs that reflect what doctors actually face day to day. It’s designed to help trainee interns, new graduates, and IMGs build confidence, sharpen clinical reasoning, and start their first hospital job feeling capable and prepared.

In line with junior doctor educational needs, the questions are designed to improve diagnosis and management of common and critical conditions encountered in hospital as well as nagivate some of the non-clinical tasks. We have developed this unique resource with reference to national and international guidelines as well as other expert sources. All of our questions are individually referenced to enable you to quickly access the relevant material for your learning. We conduct a full review of all questions and references annually to ensure we are consistent with clinical updates and/or funding changes. In addition we do opportunistic updating throughout the year if new guidelines are introduced. We also appreciate user feedback if you feel we have missed an important change in practice or want to clarify a source.
